What is it about?

It is not clear whether or not cannabis use in adolescence (at age 18) increases the risk of unemployment and receiving social welfare assistance in adulthood (at age 40). With this longitudinal cohort study, we found that men who used cannabis at high levels in adolescence had increased risk of future unemployment and of receiving social welfare assistance. These associations were not explained fully by other health-related, social or behavioural problems.
