Why is it important?

Certain types of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies carries a very high mortality in Hong Kong Chinese patients. The novel anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 antibody is believed to be able to predict clinical manifestations and prognosis. We evaluate its use in our local population.
