Why is it important?

We know that some medicines don't work as well or may have unique safety issues in ethnic populations versus Caucasians. This study evaluates efficacy and safety in an Asian population

Perspectives

Celecoxib is a commonly used medicine for treatment of arthritis. Extensive clinical data is available for effectiveness and safety in Caucasian populations. We now have studied celecoxib in African-American, Asian, and Latino populations adding to the knowledge base regarding safety and efficacy for those physicians wishing to treat those patients in those three ethnic groups
