Why is it important?

This paper is a summary of the key research findings on the causes of and responses to juvenile crime over the last 50 years. Based on this research, it recommends how to proceed with policy and practice in the future.

Perspectives

I was invited to write this article as a reflection on the 50th anniversary of the Crime Commission (1967). It was an amazing experience to reflect on 50 years of research and distill it down to the most important things we have learned.
