What is it about?
Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH), especially resulted from placenta accreta spectrum (PAS), has become a worldwide concern in maternity care. We described a novel method of uterine compression sutures (“Nausicaa” technique) as an alternative to hysterectomy for patients suffered from major PPH, especially placenta accreta spectrum.

Why is it important?
Our Nausicaa suture is a simple and feasible alternative to hysterectomy in patients suffering from major PPH, especially placenta accreta spectrum.
Perspectives
I hope this technique can spread worldwide to save both the women's lives and their uterus during the crisis of PPH. This technique is simple, and not limited to use in the medical centers. Private practitioner can also apply this technique even without strong supports from radiologist, blood bank and surgical ICU. At least it can buy some times to stabilize the mother and seek the chance for transferring to another medical center.
