What is it about?

My publication highlights the emerging challenges including perceived pyshosocial distress associated with reproductive disorders; in this context, immediate versus delayed initiation of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system following medical termination of pregnancy may warrant future design of randomised controlled trials with stringent inclusion of cases and controls for eventual design of patient-friendly, cost-effective public health research models. Core tenets of bioethics including written informed consent are warranted to enhance the overall integrity of women-centric research in contemporary times. A relatively large sample size with statistical analysis alongwith adequate adjustments for relevant confounders, variables, parameters is warranted to provide spectacular research gains in our current understanding of reproductive health, including medical termination of pregnancy.

Why is it important?

My publication is impressive with an overall public health research impact for future development of cost-effective patient-friendly clinical interventions in stringent management of pregnancy and medical terminations of pregnancy in women of ethnically disparate populations.

Perspectives

As a successful reproductive medicine research expert with proven excellence in women's health research, I would advocate timely interventions and/or counseling sessions to reduce the increasing trends of psychological distress associated with medical termination of pregnancy in women of varying sociocultural and genetic profiles. Immediate versus delayed initiation of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system following medical termination of pregnancy and continuation rates for 1 year should be investigated with extreme caution and systemic and/or local adverse reactions/effects should be monitored with timeline-based follow-ups so as to reduce any perceived stigma, psychologicl/financial distress associated with medical termination of pregnancy.
