What is it about?
Using a cross sectional survey of 3500 households, we explored aspects of household livelihoods and welfare among poor rural farmers in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Our objective was to identify constraints to production especially labour and its impact on child well-being, food security and resilience. We found insufficient return on labour and adult labour was relatively unproductive. There is need to improve the productivity of land and labour.
