Why is it important?

Working with parents/caregivers towards improving their quality of life is important. Re-engagement in previous meaningful occupations is important for the emotional and financial well being of parents/ caregivers. Loss of income due to increased burden of care and increased financial needs associated with having a child with disability adds to the financial burden of families and societies in the long term. It is important to work closely with families to help them re engage in previous occupations to have a positive impact on their quality of life.
