What is it about?

In this study we analyze the differences in schemes to compensate bear damage to livestcok and agriculture, we describe the occurence of the the compensated damage claims accross all bear populations in Europe and finally we investigate if the incidence of compensated damage is associated to different natural and human related factors such as the number of bears, or the type of bear management.

Why is it important?

It is important because our results has a direct impact for bear managers in Europe and in other continents. Also, our approach is novel and can be implemented in other studies with different species and in different continents.
