What is it about?
This study categorized participants' strategies in a virtual reality wayfinding task and showed a spectrum of individual differences in strategy choice and strategy shift. It also demonstrated the cost of taking a route makes people shift their strategies.

Why is it important?
Navigation is a fundamental cognitive capacity and understanding the individual differences can help us to improve GPS functionalities, train fire fighters, improve the navigation experience in virtual reality, diagnose early symptoms of some mental diseases, etc.
