What is it about?

Racism occurs in multiple forms and has a significant presence in all corners of the globe. There is a particular problem of racism between different countries in Africa, and internally in individual African countries. Russia and China are authoritarian nationalistic societies, cultural minorities with Russian and Chinese heritage are routinely harassed by the imposition of hostile environments. These can be manifest as essentially concentration camps or ghetto areas where cultural minorities are kept or held, secluded from the rest of the population.

Why is it important?

Racism be that covert or overt is a cancer in most societies which needs to be eradicated. More non-intentional nuanced racism, for example, unconscious bias or micro-aggression needs to be discussed, to raise awareness that these processes exist.

Perspectives

It is important that people are informed that people can be accidentally, unintentionally racist, without them realising they are being racist. This book helps to inform that debate.
