This study assesses the possible role of P-gp in T-cell activity during Heligmosomoides polygyrus infection in mice. The blockade of P-gp in vivo increased protection against the nematode what was associated with the enhanced T-cell activity.

It is the first evidence that the P-gp function of T cells is altered during nematode infection and open the way for further studies of P-gp role in host-parasite interactions.
