What is it about?

We report the case of a boy who developed Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) during a SARS-CoV-2 infection. The early diagnosis of SJS by urgent skin biopsy allowed the successful treatment of the disease with corticosteroids. No evident causative agent was specified and SARS-CoV-2 infection was suggested to have a role in the development of SJS.

Why is it important?

Reports of SJS associated with COVID-19 remain rare, and few pediatric cases have been reported.

Similar cases have been reported after our paper. We hope that our paper and many other cases will help to clarify the pathogenesis.
