What is it about?
We mapped a soybean seed regulator SOYBEAN SEED SIZE 1, encoding a SPINDLY homolog that resided in a well-identified QTL-rich region, and revealed that elite alleles of this gene, harbouring a nonsynonymous substitution from glutamic acid (E) to glutamine (Q) at position 182, which could increase seed weight, were selected during soybean domestication and improvement.
