What is it about?
Sulfur is an important nutrient element for plant growth and development. How sulfur nutrition is perceived by plants and how sulfur nutrition regulates plant growth and development is a scientific issue that is generally concerned. Our research shows that inorganic sulphate exhibits high potency activating TOR kinase, an evolutionarily conserved master regulator of nutrient sensing and metabolic signalling to control cell proliferation and growth in all eukaryotes, and cell proliferation in the leaf primordium to promote true leaf development in Arabidopsis.
