What is it about?
Double strand breaks (DSB) represent a severe kind of DNA damage, as they can lead to chromosomal fragmentation if not repaired in time. Here we show that the DNA protein crosslink repair protease WSS1A both suppresses the formation of double-strand breaks during replication and is involved in the repair of DSB-associated DNA protein crosslinks such as topoisomerase-2 cleavage complexes.
