A meta‐analysis of responses of C3 plants to atmospheric CO2: dose–response curves for 85 traits ranging from the molecular to the whole‐plant level

What is it about?

To understand how pants respond to atmospheric CO2 in the past and future, we best use dose-response curves, which show for a wide range of concentrations how plants acclimate. We analysed dose-response curves for 85 plant traits, ranging from molecules to whole-plant performance, and ranked the plasticity for these traits. We also mapped the responses to [CO2] for these traits against those to light and analysed which traits showed differential responses to these two environmental factors, which are both essential for photosynthesis.
