An integrated framework of plant form and function: the belowground perspective

What is it about?

Plants use different strategies for successfull growth and survival but our understanding so far disproportionately relies on aboveground measures such as the size and form of leaves. We link root characteristics such as diameter or density of root tissue to the aboveground framework to better understand the plant as a whole organism.
