What is it about?

Earlier thinking considered organic N nonessential for plant growth. Studies have since provided partial and suggestive evidence for plant uptake of amino acids, but we have lacked quantitative data to indicate its importance. Here we determine uptake dynamics and the quantities of the different N forms moving through soils and available to plants.
