What is it about?
Mesophyll photosynthetic sensitivity, a measure of how rapidly non-stomatal limitations to carbon uptake increase with declining Ψleaf, is greater is species from more mesic habitats. This new measurement of drought sensitivity coincides with a tradeoff of higher maximum photosynthetic rates during non-water-stressed conditions.
