What is it about?

Aberrant DNA methylation is often associated with abnormal development and pathological tissues. Stable DNA methylation landscape is the product of the dynamic processes of adding and removing DNA methylation. Here, we investigated the under-studied degradation process of de novo DNA methyltransferase DRM2, an enzyme adding DNA methylation. We demonstrated a distinct mechanism that F-box protein CFK1 interacts with DRM2 and regulates DRM2 stability, consequently, influencing genome-wide DNA methylation landscape.
