What is it about?

Leaf venation networks are critical to resource transport, mechanical support, and damage resilience, and provide a wealth of quantitative traits if the vein network can be reliably delineated. Here we describe deep learning techniques to extract leaf venation networks automatically from a diverse range of tropical tree species with improved accuracy and robustness, compared to previous methods.
