What is it about?
In contrast to messenger RNAs, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) exhibit poor protein-coding potential. These noncoding transcripts have emerged as important regulators of gene expression. Here we propose to classify plant lncRNAs according to their molecular partners, i.e. proteins, DNA or other transcripts, which is linked to their functions.
