What is it about?
Fungi produces number of compounds, some of them are used when infecting plants. Here we show that the fungus Stemphylium use Tenuazonic acid to inhibit an essential enzyme in the plant cell resulting in cell death there allowing the fungi to infect the plant.

Why is it important?
The use of biological compounds in the Agriculture is an emerging field. Increasing numbers of compounds are identified that potentially can replace agrochemicals.
