What is it about?
Carnivorous pitcher plants can look remarkably similar, even when unrelated, because they are all adapted to nutrient-poor environments. On the other hand species which are related can also show remarkable differences in pitcher shape in response to prey changes. Here we review these extraordinary patterns of evolution in carnivorous pitcher plants.
