What is it about?

Artemisinin is isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Artemisia annua L. Artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) are considered as the most effective treatment for malaria recommended by WHO at present. This study provided a new useful way to spatially improve the artemisinin content in A. annua.AaMIXTA1 prompted the GSTs development without bringing in any abnormal phenotype through regulating the cuticle biosynthesis in A. annua.
