Leaf rust infection reduces herbivore‐induced volatile emission in black poplar and attracts a generalist herbivore

What is it about?

Trees are constantly attacked by pathogens and herbivores. The consequences of such combined attacks on tree defense are however fairly unknown. We show for the first time that poplar trees emit fewer herbivore-incuded volatiles when they are attacked by a rust fungus.
