What is it about?
We provide an overview of oxygen monitoring techniques and methods for plants and a consensus on nomenclature and terminology in the field of low oxygen and flooding stress biology. We advocate the use of these terms to enhance experimental reproduction, avoid misinterpretation and facilitate accurate comparisons across studies. This is crucial considering the current lack of non-invasive techniques to measure in planta oxygen levels.
