Different factors mediate plant-plant facilitation.Nurse soil microorganisms promote seed germination, but this effect is smaller than the effect of soil properties and microhabitat. Nurse belowground environment (soil properties and microorganisms) have a higher effect on plant growth and survival than nurse microhabitat.
