What is it about?
Trypanosoma brucei has six versions of the cap-binding translation initiation factor EIF4E. We here investigated their specialised functions. Unexpectedly, we found that one of them, EIF4E2, binds to, and stabilizes, eight mRNAs that are most abundant when cells are synthesising DNA.
