What is it about?

Many genes of unknown function contribute to the specialized biology of bacterial pathogens, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, so it can be critical to identify their functions. We show that one of such gene, abmR, encodes a novel transcription factor that binds ATP and regulates expression of a small regulatory RNA that is associated with TB pathogenesis.
