What is it about?
Gram-negative pathogens are becoming increasingly difficult to kill with our failing armamentarium of antibiotics, necessitating a search for new targets. We explored a possibility of using a virulence factor RfaH as a drug target. We identified a small molecule that is predicted to interfere RfaH binding to its target, the transcription complex, and showed that it inhibits RfaH in vitro.
