Why is it important?
Our findings show the adverse effects on head, neck, and oral cells yet, very few have been tested against these cells. As e-cigarette usage increases, it is important to understand the risk of its consumption in overall health and more specifically in oral health including the head, and neck. We also identified the urgency to increase future research to link e-cigarette usage to periodontal disease and/or head, neck, or oral cancer to understand better these adverse effects.
