What is it about?
The increasing number of patients with obesity, and the severity of obesity, impacts the healthcare workforce, particularly to nurses who provide most direct care to patients. In the review, a total of 27 selected articles are analysed in terms of how nursing activities and time taken for clinical care are affected by patient obesity.

Why is it important?
This review suggests that patients with obesity may require additional and more complex nursing care than patients who are not obese. Current health care system is not established to address the challenge of providing nursing care to the increasing numbers of patients with obesity.
