What is it about?

Using an adequate mathematical model, it is possible to predict data of moisture and radius of alginate particles at a drying procedure. Thus, it is possible to calculate in how much minutes the particles will reach that size/moisture for a certain temperature. The model was validated with experiments, agreeing with the predicted data.

Why is it important?

The importance of this work relies on the fact that we are proposing a simple model capable of calculate changes in moisture and size at the same time. It is possible to use this modelling to calculate at which temperature/time an alginate sphere is going to reach certain amount of moisture and size.

Perspectives

This is actually my first published article, it was a real pleasure writing and revising it with the co-authors of this work. I hope this work help and inspire more people in the search of intelligent and simple solutions to model physical phenomena with low computational cost.
