Why is it important?
This activity is carried out in 219 landing ports and fishing sites, along 950 km of the Ecuadorian continental coast. Artisanal fishing has an estimated socioeconomic importance of $ 200 million per year on internal commercialization. Length-weight relationships associate mathematically length and weight so that one can be converted into the other, and they are useful for assessment and management of fishery resources, combining with other parameters of the population dynamics
Perspectives
