Area effects elevational patterns of biodiversity
What is it about?
Changes in biodiversity with elevation can have significant differences depending on the spatial scale at which they are sampled. Here we show that taking the differences in sampled area into account solves the dilema and biodiversity patterns become similar.
Why is it important?
Area has an important influence on how we measure and percieve patterns of biodiversity. It is therefore important to account for the effects of area in studies of biodiversity patterns.
