What is it about?
Accessibility to HIV care is critical. We have shown for the first time that decentralized and Integrating HIV care into non-specialized primary care clinics is feasible and comparable to hospital based care in low-income setting.

Why is it important?
We looked at the HIV patients who are survived or retained in community based decentralized program on average of about 3 years follow up period. And we found that our retention rate is similar to the rate that was achieved from the care at the specialized hospital level.
Perspectives
I hope our findings help to convince the scaling up of community based decentralized HIV patients care and improve treatment accessibility among HIV patients especially in resource limited areas where accessibility of specialized hospital care is limited.
