What is it about?
This article examines role of the music scene in the rise of the profile ofPortland Oregon and a livable city. The ensuing gentrification has provided more opportunities for musicians and artists but has raised rents and bifurcated the job market. Collective empowerment, between renters rights groups and musicians has spurned new alliances to combat a rent and housing crisis that is changing the city.
