What is it about?

Through this study we showed the influence of the use of different formulations of asparaginase on the overall and event-free survival of children with acute lymphocytic leukemia treated in Brazil. Children who received a formulation that, according to previous data from our group, did not reach therapeutic activity in most cases, had worse outcomes.

Why is it important?

These data serve as a warning about the importance of monitoring asparaginase activity and its clinical impact.

Perspectives

This article is the result of an extensive work to qualify pediatric oncology care that our group has been seeking to carry out in our country. Getting it published in a Journal like BJH brought a lot of pride to all of us and encouraged us to continue such research work with national cooperation. I hope you enjoy reading it.
