What is it about?
in deciding to how to deal with a stone in common bile duct whether by intraoperative cholangiogram and stone removal or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograph at time of cholecystectomy , the size of gall stone compared to the size of cystic duct is to be taken in consideration . A large stone in Common bile duct is simply irretrievable through a smaller cystic duct so the first option is unlikely to be successful. preoperative 3 Dimensional Magnetic resonance cholangiography (MRCP) will give us such information

Why is it important?
such approach could save the patient of unnecessary and unlikely successful procedure of intraoperative cholangiogram and or ERCP
Perspectives
more use of MRCP should be used more frequently in deciding the existance of stone in common bile duct .
