What is it about?

We have investigated for the first time the Tortonian-Calabrian sediments from the Makran Offshore focusing on reservoir characterization and seismic stratigraphy. This paper examines the reservoir potential and associated seismic stratigraphic features from the subduction-related margin of southwest Pakistan.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that revised mud weights, casing policies, pore pressure transients and geophysical inversion studies will help alleviate drilling risks in future exploration strategies.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure since Makran Offshore is an interesting and challenging area for geological investigations and research. It is hoped that this article will be an added knowledgeable contribution to the already existing literature available.
