What is it about?

The study have compared two interventions for young children with autism. The Intensive Behaviour Treatment (IBT) Group was trained 15 hours/week and Imitation Responding Group (IR) 2-4 hours/week. All Children have been diagnosed with ASD before intervention started. All Children were younger than 4 years at start. This study gave them their first intervention. The Children showed similar gains in expressive language and imitation. Imitation Responding Group had advandages in play and IBT in responding language. Interventionist was habilitation staff. Supervision was given to preschool teachers and parents. Imitaiton responding was an easy intervention to start up with.
