What is it about?

Competition or cooperation? When resources are scarce or unpredictable, it may be beneficial to search for food in groups as it allows the sharing of information. But, shortage of food can also increase the conflict between the individuals and might destabilize groups and compromise cooperative behaviour. We evaluated which of the two scenarios was more likely to occur in the common waxbill.
