What is it about?

Existing literature outlining models of e-government was reviewed to find a suitable framework for restructuring the official website of the municipality of Paete in Laguna province. The research sought out for improvements to the local government portal that will enhance the delivery of services to citizens. With this aim the researcher chose a conceptual model that promotes interactivity, facilitates information collection, and integrates transformative approaches to governance. A new system incorporating Tambouris' e-Participation Stages was proposed, with modifications to address the general needs of the public, facilitate citizen participation, streamline local government processes, and increase responsiveness from government officials. Upon implementation, the stakeholders will be asked to evaluate the proposed system through a series of direct and indirect interviews. Further exploratory and longitudinal studies involving other LGUs in Laguna are recommended to assess the effectiveness of e-government services on a larger scale.
