What is it about?

We present the idea of virtualizing IoT components and spreading those components towards dew computing. We proposed different virtualizations for specific dew computing levels, from IoT devices, smart devices, computers, to servers in the cloud.

Why is it important?

The main problem in IoT is the lack of computing resources at the constrained level where sensors and actuators actually work. We propose an architecture that distributes IoT managing responsibilities towards different levels. Therefore, we optimize the utilization of resources and move some processing and analyzing tasks closer to sensors and actuators. This architecture represents an option to not depending completely on Cloud services and lower implementation costs.

Perspectives

Learning about the huge potential of dew computing was amazing. I think there is still a lot to research in this area.
