What is it about?

This paper introduces enhancements to the simulation product for 6LoWPAN networks proposed by authors, which enables service quality research. The influence of different algorithms for prioritising traffic on throughput, delay, packet delivery ratio and packet loss ratio considered.

Why is it important?

This paper provides improvements to the software product presented from authors in [ Haka, A., Vasilev, R., Aleksieva, V., Valchanov, H. Simulation Framework for Building of 6LoWPAN Network. //Proceedings, 2019 16-th Conference on Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems (ELMA), 6-8 June 2019, Varna, Bulgaria, pp: 522-526, ISBN: 978-1-7281-1412-5, IEEE Catalog number: CFP19L07-USB]. They are expressed in the implementation of additional algorithms for traffic prioritisation and the ability to study throughput, delay, packet delivery ratio and packet loss ratio. An evaluation of the algorithms implemented in the software tool done. The results of the experimental studies, shows that the proposed algorithm for prioritising traffic at 6LoWPAN compared to the classic algorithms improves the quality of service of static nodes located at close distance from the coordinator, of mobile nodes in urban areas, and the nodes that moves faster before mobility.

Perspectives

It is a tool to compare the QoS parameters in different algorithms for prioritization in this technology.
