What is it about?
This paper introduces various methods for assigning scheduling parameters when using a reservation-based scheduler. The proposed approach is based on 3 different task models, including pseudo-proportional share tasks, periodic tasks, and event-driven tasks. For periodic tasks, an adaptive algorithm based on a closed loop is presented.

Why is it important?
This article is the first step toward dynamically adapting the scheduling parameters to cope with variance in the tasks' execution and inter-arrival times. It introduces some interesting concepts that will be further investigated in future works based on control theory.
