Why is it important?
The processing of this cell eliminates the use of dangerous dopant gases and the need for expensive multi-chamber chemical vapour deposition reactor. The resulting solar cell manufacturing process is safer, simpler and cheaper. Furthermore, the use of lightweight and flexible substrate widens the application range for solar cells, in particular for building integrated solar cells.
