What is it about?

Manipulation of biological cells is one of the exciting fields in Biotechnology. The required cell manipulation includes transporting, trapping or immobilizing, rotating and isolating. Microbubble “tweezers” have been proven to be an effective tool in cell manipulation. In this work, we show holographic microbubble tweezers on nanoporous gold disc (NPGD) arrays in liquid environment through photothermal effect and its particle trapping mechanism. This research can efficiently be implemented in cell manipulation process for various biomedical applications.
